ANTAS philosophy

The Antas philosophy (Aluminium, Craftsmanship and Art) comes under varied forms: from motorcars to its accessories to suitcase sets, all rigorously one offs. This philosophy achieves maximum prestige in the creation of one off vehicles following the most demanding individual's requirements.

The Antas (“Eagle” in etruscan language) is the most exclusive result, a car personalized by the fortunate owner in every single detail from the external to the internal details, starting from the selection of the mechanical base.

Who choses Antas ensures to feel unique in a unique car which is his own, actually a selection of lifestyle.
But how does a dream like this comes true?

1) The powertrain choice by the client

The mechanical base of an Antas can technically be found on any car configuration with front engine and rear-wheel drive. This is so as to maintain the general equilibrium in the styling proportions. In the specific case of an Antas, the client's choice can be directed towards cars such as Ferrari 550/575/599, Maserati (all models), Aston Martin, Jaguar XKR, Mercedes SL/S coupè/CL coupè, BMW M6 coupè/cabriolet, Corvette, Viper etc. We can also use vintage cars, to relive past and lost feelings. The "first" Antas for example was realised on a 1966 Maserati Quattroporte.For custom made cars (other project than an Antas, with styling defined according to the client's wishes), we also can accept rear engine configurations.Whatever the project (Antas or custom made), automatic or paddle shift transmission is possible provided the original car is equipped with such option. Coupè and Cabriolet Versions are equally realizable choosing the corresponding original versions.

Once the powertrain choice is made, the client can decide to get the original car by himself, or have Mazzanti automobili find it for him.

2) Choice of the styling

Style is one of the fundamental elements to provide the client with a unique item. The procedure foresees a first meeting with our designers to define guidelines of the external style. This first stage's result is entirely drawn on paper. Subsequently, the initial sketches are optimised on computer. At this point the client again plays an active and vital part in the process of the definition of the style: he will be invited in our design atelier near Parma, where he can finalise each detail of the body and the interior features. This process is done by both looking at the demonstrator vehicle on a rotating stand and on computer in real time with our designers. At the end of this process, the client will have a definitive three-dimensional colour rendering of his own creation.

3) Planning and technical verifications

Once the mechanical base and the styling are decided, we will proceed to a whole series of technical verifications of the feasibility of the project.The result of this phase will give the definition of all the technical details and construction to adopt for creating a safe and light car, calculating and optimizing the most varied parameters (weight distribution, chassis reinforcements, safety features etc), not forgetting homologation requirements. Our engineers have great experience in this type of optimization, having planned some of the most exclusive cars in the world in their preceding job experiences.

4) Construction

Using the mathematical data developed in the preceding point, we will create a tubular structure,as used in the past, which allows the physical definition of the attachment points of the bodywork to the chassis.The client is invited in our atelier, where we will proceed at determining the seat position based on his/her individual height/weight. This is a fundamental step to determine the inside dimensions of the cabin.The next step sees the creation of the different parts of bodywork. Each aluminium panel will be entirely hand beaten with the same tools and care as used by the famous coachbuilders of the past. In this phase experience, passion and art come together to produce a unique object of art.At the same time we will prepare moulds for the windscreen and other glazing and the interior finish, also totally hand made by expert artisans.The client's car is almost ready. The attention to detail, even the most hidden, is in this phase of paramount importance. Every item must be perfect, every car is cared, scrutinized, optimized, personalized up to complete satisfaction of the client.

This procedure requires, as you may imagine, a long time: no less than 11 months from the beginning of the project. During these eleven months, the client will be our guest at regular intervals (according to his agenda) in a beautiful and exclusive Villa in the Tuscany countryside ( www.poggioalcasone.com ), where he will be able to relax and observe with trepidation the birth of his/her own car. Visits will also be arranged in surrounding places of interest so as to make the Antas experience a reality.
